Since opening our new distribution centre at Wiri, South Auckland in November last year, the response from our customers has been overwhelming. Our Auckland customers have been eager for the opportunity to visit the site and see our product – particularly the newly launched lightweight Proscaf Aluminium which is attracting very strong interest from the scaffolding industry nationwide.
The Wiri yard allows our customers to view our product before collecting or having the equipment swiftly delivered to their job site. They appreciate the ability to catch up face-to-face with our onsite staff and to learn more about our product range and service capabilities. Our team enjoys the friendly banter that comes with the visits too!
Previously, a third-party logistics company was engaged for supply to customers in and around Auckland. The new Wiri site builds on that, with enhanced service and convenience. This particular site was chosen for its location, in proximity to many of our Auckland customers. They can see our product, make decisions on procurement and hire more efficiently, and we are happy for the opportunity to forge strong relationships with our customers.
Beyond Auckland, our customers in Waikato and Bay of Plenty are also serviced from the new yard. In fact, our new yard has enabled us to improve our delivery times right throughout the North Island. Wiri supplements our Northland facility, which services the northern regions, and where our specialist and custom-made height access products are designed and manufactured for aviation, mining, civil construction, and other industries worldwide.
Helping customers make an informed decision is another benefit of the Wiri facilitiy. The site provides a convenient location from which customers can meet with our team for product demonstrations of scaffolding equipment, as well as our NZ made specialist access platforms for other industries.
The Wiri site is now our primary New Zealand distribution centre for the supply of Proscaf Ringlock Scaffold which is available for purchase or dry hire.
The Auckland Distribution Centre is managed by our Logistics Manager, Monty Stewart, with staff Ojay and Sean, also employed full-time at the yard. We look forward to seeing you at Wiri, and being your go-to, one-stop-shop supplier for scaffolding equipment
This month, we also open a design office in Parnell which will allow us to attract a qualified staff of product designers from a bigger talent pool, further improving our service to worldwide customers of scaffolding and specialist access products. Meanwhile, we remain committed to our regional base in Maungaturoto, where the large majority of our more than 60 staff are based. Our South Island customers are served by our scaffolding yard in Christchurch.
