SafeSmart Access is a market-leading, New Zealand company providing scaffolding and height access equipment for use in construction. The versatility, speed, and efficiency of our Proscaf rosette scaffolding make it the most convenient and cost-effective system for simple and complex installations alike.
SafeSmart’s added value business services are designed to support our customers’ scaffolding business to thrive and prosper. With nationwide stock locations in Auckland, Wellington, and in the South Island, we do our best to be as close to as many of our customers as we can. For this reason, we have recently reviewed our strategy regarding distribution centres and will from December 2019 be moving our Southern Distribution Centre to Cromwell, to service the area from Christchurch south.
As the Kiwi company, providing a high-quality ringlock scaffold system as an alternative to the multi-national suppliers, we understand you may have questions about our products and solutions, so we’re here to give you the scoop.
Where is Proscaf manufactured?
Proscaf is the most versatile and flexible rosette scaffolding system in Australasia and is currently made in an ISO9001 accredited factory in China to SafeSmart’s design. Proscaf steel and aluminium components are regularly checked by an independent quality control team that checks measurements, galvanising thickness and overall finish. Our factory batch tests each shipment of raw material and produces a report detailing chemical and strength/tensility properties. The system is also tested in Australia and New Zealand by accredited independent laboratories to achieve the requirements of AS/NZS 1576 and other related standards. The system is registered with Workcover Australia.
The original steel Proscaf has been used in New Zealand for over 12 years and is backed by our New Zealand-based in-house design and engineering team, as is the more recently launched Proscaf Aluminium. A range of technical datasheets on Prosaf components can be downloaded directly from our website.
Does Proscaf aluminium deteriorate in harsh conditions?
Proscaf aluminium has been designed and tested for optimum strength and durability for use in construction within New Zealand’s uniquely harsh climate. It is manufactured from robust, high strength marine-grade aluminium extrusion for corrosion resistance, even in New Zealand’s toughest conditions.
A great example of the durability of high tensile aluminium is a stairway which was manufactured at SafeSmart’s New Zealand factory in April 2000 using the same grade of aluminium as used for the production of Proscaf. This stairway was installed at the picturesque Mangawhai Beach in Northland, for pedestrian access to the sandy beach from the dunes above. After 19 years in use, the stairway still stands in pristine condition with no sign of rust or corrosion, even the section that is sometimes buried in the sand!
